Former KU Basketball Player Lagerald Vick Arrested on Attempted Murder Charges in Tennessee

MEMPHIS, TN — Former University of Kansas basketball standout Lagerald Vick is behind bars in Tennessee following a weekend arrest on severe felony charges.

According to online jail records from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the 29-year-old Memphis native is being held on a $1,500,000 bond. He faces requested charges of attempted first-degree murder and employing a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Law enforcement records indicate that Vick was taken into custody over the weekend and is scheduled to make his first scheduled court appearance on Monday morning.

Vick, a prominent figure in Jayhawk basketball during his collegiate career, played in 117 games for KU between 2015 and 2019. The Memphis native achieved significant on-court success during his junior season, earning an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection.
